COVID-19 Update
As we plan to reopen we would like to inform our patients of our new protocol and the efforts put forth by our team to prevent the spread of infections – both routinely and with any added processes since the coronavirus emerged.
SANITIZATION: We are repeatedly sanitizing common areas through the office including all door handles. We want you to know that our regular, every-day sterilization protocol is to assume every patient has something transmissible. Our sanitation and sterilization protocol is to sanitize all surfaces that come into contact with a patient and to sterilize instruments that touch or enter a patient’s mouth. This is standard dental sterilization protocol to ensure that no matter what virus or bacteria may be present at any time, it is not transmitted from one patient to another. We are taking precautionary measures to prevent the production of aerosols. We will continue to ensure that careful sanitation and sterilization protocols are followed to not put any patients or ourselves at risk of transmission of any virus or bacteria.
SCHEDULE: Our schedule is being adjusted for better social distancing. We ask that patients brush their teeth before coming to their appointments so as to minimize contamination via the tooth brushing station which is now a hand washing station.
PRE-SCREENING PATIENTS: Prior to your appointment, before you enter our office, one of our team members will ask you a series of questions for symptoms and exposure as well as using an infrared temperature sensor. Please disclose to us any symptom or condition that may put you or us at risk. We may ask you to reschedule your appointment after discussing any such conditions with us. (The above protocols apply to our team as well)
CHECK IN: Our check in process will be changed as to keep our reception area traffic to an absolute minimum. When you arrive to your appointment please call our office number (801) 765-9990, or text (801) 319-7173 and we will check you in. We will call you into our office via text message when our team is ready for you. We ask that adult patients and teens enter the office alone; younger patients may be accompanied by one adult. Anyone else please remain in your car.
COOKIES AND ENTERTAINMENT: We will sadly not be baking cookies at this time and apologize for that! Our reception room may look different when you come in! Our books and magazines have been put away for your safety. Our games and X-box are temporarily out of service as well to limit contamination.
We hope that you feel updated and understand the measures we are taking to help keep things on track with your orthodontic treatment. Our goal is to provide a safe environment for our patients and team, and to do our part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Don’t hesitate to call if you have any questions! We are excited and look forward to seeing you back in our office!
